Comprehensive Insurance covers both damage to your own car (from accidents, theft, fire, etc.) and your legal liability for injury or damage you cause to other people and their property.

Third-Party Insurance (often called “Third-Party Only”) covers only your legal liability for injury or damage you cause to others. It does NOT pay for repairs to your own vehicle.

Simple choice:

  • Choose Comprehensive if your car is new, financed, or valuable to you.

  • Choose Third-Party if your car is older and you mainly need to meet the legal requirement at a lower cost.

Yes. Third-Party liability insurance is the minimum legal requirement for all motor vehicles in Kenya. It provides the mandatory cover for damage or injury you might cause to others on the road. However, it offers no protection for your own vehicle.
